Lieutenant Lisa was a female Human Starfleet officer who lived during the mid-23rd century.

Starfleet service[]

Lisa served in the operations division aboard the USS Enterprise under Captain James T. Kirk, during a historic five-year mission that the Enterprise was undertaking. She was assigned as one of the ship's communications officers in 2269.

That year, Lisa asked "Captain Kirk" if she should inform Starfleet Command of the Enterprise's plan to go to Benecia Colony after Dr. Janice Lester, who had taken over the body of Kirk, had ordered a change of course. After some discussion of the situation with Spock, Lester/Kirk told Lisa to inform Starfleet of the delay.

Lisa later served as court reporter during Spock's court martial for mutiny. Lester/Kirk told Lisa to replay two of Spock's sentences after the Vulcan had openly declared his intent to resist Lester/Kirk. Similarly, Lester/Kirk later told Lisa to replay a conversation between Montgomery Scott and Leonard McCoy in which they discussed moving against Lester/Kirk. Lisa was later ordered by Lester/Kirk to inform all sectors of her decision to execute Spock for mutiny and to have each section send a representative to the place of execution on the hangar deck. (TOS: "Turnabout Intruder")

Lisa was played by Barbara Baldavin, who had previously played Angela Martine in "Balance of Terror" and "Shore Leave", and was brought in when Nichelle Nichols was committed elsewhere and unable to appear as Lt. Uhura in "Turnabout Intruder".
Though referred to as "Lt. Lisa" in dialogue (and never given a surname), she was credited on-screen only as "Communications Officer."
