A leola root is a dark yellow root vegetable native to the Delta Quadrant. Though it has an unpleasant taste and is covered in mildew, leola root is one of the best sources of vitamins and minerals in the Delta Quadrant. Neelix prepared many dishes using leola root as a prime ingredient, including his infamous leola root stew. (VOY: "State of Flux")
Upon expanding her taste palate, Seven of Nine began to prepare meals herself to ensure quality. One of the dishes she created was cream of leola soup. (VOY: "The Void")
