Kotara Barath was a planet located a year's travel from Kantare, where a Kantare colony was situated.
In 2129, a supply ship commanded by Captain Kuulan left Kotara Barath for their homeworld, but was forced to crash land on an uninhabited planet by an ion storm. (ENT: "Oasis")
According to the Star Trek: Star Charts ("United Federation of Planets III"), Kotara Barath was located in the Alpha Quadrant. By the late 24th century, this system was controlled by the Cardassian Union, and was located near the Demilitarized Zone.
