Kim Bailey (born 20 May 1960; age 56) was a model maker and owner of the company Starlight Effects who worked on the Star Trek: The Next Generation second season episode "Q Who", for which he, and associates created several studio models.
Bailey worked on special props on the 1988 science fiction comedy Killer Klowns from Outer Space and as electronics specialist on the action drama Bulletproof (1988). Further credits in the art department include the science fiction film Mission to Mars (2000) and the science fiction thriller The One (2001) on which he also appeared as a featured background actor, a tunnel technician operating the consoles. Between 1995 and 1996, Bailey worked as playback effects supervisor on the science fiction series Space: Above and Beyond and in 1997 as special effects graphics artist on the science fiction sequel Alien: Resurrection. In 2003 Bailey reverse engineered the Enterprise TOS bridge for Paramount Studios. The bridge was designed as an exact replica of the original bride for the Star Trek world that launched in Hyde Park, England, in 2003.
