Kevin Sears is a digital artist at Digital Domain. He was the studio's lighting artist on 2009's Star Trek, handling "look development on characters and set extensions." He worked on the film from July 2008 through October 2008. [1]

Sears graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design in June 2007. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a major in Visual Effects and a minor in Technical Direction. The same month he graduated, he joined Digital Domain as a lighting intern. Three months later, he was hired as an employee and began working as the Environmental Look Development Lead on the 2008 film Speed Racer. Incidentally, this film's music score was written by Michael Giacchino, who later composed 2009's Star Trek.

Prior to his work on Star Trek, Sears was a digital lighter on The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. He is currently handling character and prop look development as a lighter on Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, which, like Star Trek, was written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci.
