Brigadier Kerla was a Klingon officer who served as Chancelor Gorkon's military adviser in 2293.
In that year, immediately after the destruction of the Klingon moon Praxis, Kerla responded to a message sent from the USS Excelsior, claiming they did not require assistance, and warning them to stay outside of the Neutral Zone.
Two months later, Kerla accompanied Gorkon and his contingent to Earth to engage in peace talks, and attended a formal dinner onboard the USS Enterprise, which was escorting the chancellor's ship to Federation space. During the dinner, Kerla voiced his opinion that peace talks with the Federation would inevitably lead to the annihilation of the Klingon people.
