Kenneth Branagh was a 20th century British actor known for his Shakespeare adaptations.
When studying Shakespeare and performing the title role in Henry V, Data planned to study the performance of Branagh as well as those of Olivier, Shapiro and Kullnark. (TNG: "The Defector")
Branagh's adaptation of Henry V was still in theaters when "The Defector" aired.
