Kelemane's planet

Voyager trapped in orbit of Kelemane's planet

A computer display showing Voyager trapped in orbit

Kelemane's planet is a planet in the Delta Quadrant. It is unusual due to its tachyon core, which generates a subspace particle field that runs between the poles. When USS Voyager encountered the planet in 2376, it was pulled into its orbit by a gravimetric gradient. The ship disrupted the field causing high-frequency seismic activity on the surface.

The surface of the planet, time is greatly accelerated compared to that of normal space. A rotation of the planet occurs 58 times per one minute observed from normal space. The native species observe one day every 1.03 seconds.

During their time trapped in orbit, Voyager was able to study several ages of development on the planet. (VOY: "Blink of an Eye")

The planet is named for one of its inhabitants, Kelemane.
