The Kazon-Nistrim are one of the most aggressive and violent Kazon sects, despite being amongst the weakest.
They were first encountered in 2371 when Ensign Seska of the USS Voyager attempted to illegally trade replicator technology with them in exchange for an alliance. The Kazon failed to integrate the technology into their ship and the resulting explosion killed most of the crew. When Seska's actions were uncovered, she escaped to the ship of the First Maje, Jal Culluh. (VGR: "State of Flux")
In 2372, the Nistrim later attacked the Voyager and stole a transporter module with Seska's help. The module was later destroyed by Commander Chakotay. (VGR: "Maneuvers")
Further attacks by the Nistrim on Voyager forced Captain Kathryn Janeway to propose an alliance with them. Culluh's refusal to speak on equal terms with a woman abruptly ended these negotiations. Culluh subsequently attended the disasterous meeting with Janeway and the Trabe.
