Star Trek is the second film Petty has worked on which starred Eric Bana; the first was 2003's Hulk. It is also Petty's second film to star Bruce Greenwood after 1992's Passenger 57, which co-starred Robert Hooks.

Her prior credits as a production accountant also include two films featuring Star Trek actor Paul WinfieldDennis the Menace (starring Christopher Lloyd and featuring music by Jerry Goldsmith) and Mars Attacks! In addition, she worked on two films composed by James HornerLegends of the Fall and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
