Kaferia was a planet, home to the Kaferian apples. Whenever Gary Mitchell visited this planet, he always favored the apples. (TOS: "Where No Man Has Gone Before")

According to the The Worlds of the Federation, Kaferia was Tau Ceti III. This planet was the homeworld for an insectoid civilization.

According to the Star Trek: Star Charts (pg. 44, "United Federation of Planets I"), Kaferia was the third planet in the Tau Ceti system. The Tau Ceti system was located in or near Federation space, in the Alpha Quadrant. In the mid-22nd century, Kaferia was a destination on the Vulcan trade routes. In 2378, Kaferia was a Federation member.
