In the 2360s, William T. Riker wore furs when he spoke with the leadership council of Kabatris. He made reference to this event when speaking of the compromised required for diplomacy. For a meeting with the Elected One, Beata, on Angel I, Riker wore a revealing outfit which was the traditional male garb. When Natasha Yar and Deanna Troi confronted him about his chest-baring outfit, he referenced the Kabatris meeting showing that he will do what is required for diplomatic missions. (TNG: "Angel One")
