Actor Jonathan Farwell was born 9 January 1932 in Lansing, Michigan. He portrayed a Starfleet captain (and old friend of Jean-Luc Picard) named Walker Keel in TNG: "Conspiracy". He is also known for a role on The Young and the Restless television soap opera.
It is also reported that he was wanted by the writers for the role of captain Picard but was precluded by his (at the time) thick french accent and later by the superb audition of Patrick Stewart.
