Jonathan H. Dixon (born 25 October 1965; age 58) is the actor who played Froman, a weapons officer aboard the USS Enterprise in 2009's Star Trek and its 2013 sequel Star Trek Into Darkness. [1] A behind the scenes picture of Dixon is used for card #14, "Ensign Froman", of the virtual collectible card battle game Star Trek: Rivals.

Dixon was born in Los Angeles, California. He is married and has four children. He first began working with J.J. Abrams in 2003, when Dixon was given a minor recurring role as a CIA Officer in the television series Alias. He continued working with Abrams on the pilot for Lost in 2004. Dixon made a return appearance on both shows in 2005 and also worked on an episode of Abrams' television series Felicity. On Alias, he worked with Victor Garber, Terry O'Quinn, Greg Grunberg, Jonathan Banks, Amanda Foreman, and Dayo Ade and on Lost, Dixon worked with Terry O'Quinn, Daniel Dae Kim, Greg Grunberg, and Daniel Roebuck.

Dixon also worked on Abrams' first feature film, 2006's Mission: Impossible III but his part was cut out of the final film. Several other Star Trek cast members who appeared in this film, including Jeffrey Chase, Greg Grunberg, Tony Guma, and Simon Pegg. Alumni from previous Star Trek outings had roles in the film, as well, including Ellen Bry, Bruce French, and Tracy Middendorf.

Other projects he worked on include the comedy Wannabe (2005, with Spencer Garrett), the documentary Mr. Warmth: The Don Rickles Project (2007, with Sarah Silverman and Whoopi Goldberg), and the short film Don't Press Benjamin's Buttons (2009).

More recently, Dixon worked with Abrams on the HBO pilot Anatomy of Hope (2009), with Bruce Gray, Tony Guma, Jill Lover, and Mark Rolston, and on the science fiction thriller Super 8 (2011), with Michael Giacchino, Bruce Greenwood, Jack Axelrod, Amanda Foreman, Tony Guma, Jason Brooks, Tim Griffin, Marco Sanchez, Jay Scully, Greg Grunberg, and Alex Nevil.
