John David Warner (born 3 December 1952; age 71) is a comic book author, best known for his work on Gold Key's Flash Gordon series.

Throughout his career, he also worked for DC Comics, Marvel Comics, and Warren Publications, on a variety of titles, including Captain America, Doc Savage, Rampaging Hulk, and Son of Satan.

He wrote several issues of the Gold Key Star Trek series, but the publication was canceled before his final issue could be published. Frank Bolle was scheduled to be the artist for the final issue, and completed nineteen lettered pages, completed with pencil breakdowns but they were never delivered.
