John Paul Lona portrayed Ambassador Runepp in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "The Muse". He received the guest spot by winning a contest for which he designed the make-up for the character's species, the Rasiinians.
Lona has also illustrated several Star Wars comic books and roleplaying games. The ships he designed include the YT-450a, the Wolden-class and the Imperial Repair Ship.
