John Lindesmith (21 March 194225 August 2005; age 63) [1] appeared as an Enterprise crewman in the Star Trek: The Original Series first and third season episodes "Charlie X" and "The Paradise Syndrome".

He filmed his scenes for "Charlie X" on Tuesday 12 July 1966 and Wednesday 13 July 1966, and his scene for "The Paradise Syndrome" on Tuesday 18 June 1968, all at Desilu Stage 9. He only received credit for his second appearance despite having dialogue in both his appearances.

The bulk of roles during his brief television career were as military servicemen. Before his appearances on Star Trek, Lindesmith made three appearances on Gene Roddenberry's prior series, The Lieutenant (1963-1964; starring Gary Lockwood, with John Arndt, Paul Comi, Walter Koenig, Paul Lambert, Steve Marlo, and Carey Foster).

Following his appearances on Star Trek , he appeared on Lucille Ball's Here's Lucy (1969; with Ball and Sean Morgan), with his final TV appearance on Herbert F. Solow's Medical Center (1969; with James Daly, Byron Morrow, Garth Pillsbury, and Mary-Linda Rapelye).

Outside of his acting career, Lindesmith served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
