John A. Escobar (born 2 January 1955; age 69) is a stunt performer, stunt coordinator and stunt actor who performed stunts in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and portrayed a security officer in the Star Trek: The Next Generation first season episode "Heart of Glory".

Escobar was born in Madrid, Spain and grew up in Tarzana, California and entered the stunt business in 1973. His resume includes films such as 1941 (1979, with Elisha Cook, Jr., J. Patrick McNamara, Michael McKean, Jerry Hardin, and Geno Silva), Critters (1986, with Scott Grimes, Ethan Phillips, Vince Deadrick, Jr., and John Nowak), Critters 2: The Main Course (1988, with Scott Grimes, Tom Hodges, Herta Ware, Sam Anderson, Christopher Doyle, and Noon Orsatti), Darkman (1990, with Larry Drake, Jessie Lawrence Ferguson, Nicholas Worth, Aaron Lustig, Neal McDonough, Dennis Madalone, Spiro Razatos, and Christopher Doyle), Independence Day (1996, with Brent Spiner, Patricia Tallman, Tom Morga, Bill Smitrovich, Leland Orser, Tim Kelleher, Lynn Salvatori, and Dana Hee), Mimic (1997, with F. Murray Abraham, Doug Coleman, and Kurt D. Among his television appearances are Riptide (1984, with David Graf and Marshall R. Teague), Hill Street Blues (1981-1987, with James B. Sikking, Barbara Bosson, Barbara Babcock, Marco Rodriguez, and Marc Alaimo), and Profiler (1997, with Dennis Christopher and Jack Blessing).

He was featured in the "Los Angeles Times" (1989) and in the mexican magazine "Geografia Universal" (1982). In 1987 he was the stunt coordinator and 2nd unit director for Rod Stewart's music video "Forever Young".
