John Austin is an actor who appeared as a regular background actor, an operations officer, in several episodes of Star Trek: Voyager. As a background actor, Austin received no credit for his work and was identified by name tags of his costumes, sold off on the It's A Wrap! sale and auction on eBay [1] [2] as well as the call sheet for the episode "Hope and Fear", filmed on 27 February 1998.

In addition he portrayed a Krenim in the Voyager episodes "Year of Hell" and "Year of Hell, Part II". His costume from these episodes was also sold off on eBay and later re-used by background actor Eric Hunter in the episode "Tsunkatse". [3]

Austin worked as stand-in for Terrence Evans on the fourth season episode "Nemesis", for Roger Morrissey on the episode "Hunters", for Clint Carmichael on the episode "Prey", and for Charles Rocket on the fifth season episode "The Disease".

Together with fellow Hirogen background actor John Wilkie, Austin appeared as one of the Chigs in several episodes of the Space: Above and Beyond (1995-1996, with Lanei Chapman, Tucker Smallwood, Tasia Valenza, David Jean Thomas, and Tracee Lee Cocco). [4] In 1998, he appeared as a bowling alley employee in the Cybill episode "Farewell, My Sweet" along with John Jurgens and as a WIDF News office worker in Godzilla (with Lloyd Kino, Clyde Kusatsu, Glenn Morshower, Derek Webster, Jamison Yang, Nathan Anderson, James Black, Tom Gianelli, Stoney Westmoreland, Frank Welker, Susan McNabb, Guy Richardson, Kevin Grevioux, Patricia Tallman, Eugenie Bondurant, Jack Nolan, Norman Fessler, Lou Simon, and George Cambio).
