Captain Joel Randolph
Captain Joel Randolph was the Starfleet officer and commander of the starship USS Yorktown.
In 2286, Randolph reported to Starfleet Command that his ship lost power following an encounter with the 'Whale Probe' and for precautionary measures, he ordered all non-essential personnel to be given hiber-sedatives to slow down consumption of life support reserves.
In the meantime, Randolphs chief engineer had been attempting to deploy a makeshift solar sail with which to focus and absorb radiation from a nearby sun they were orbiting, to which he requested a link to Engineering Control for further assistance. (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home)
- Randolph's name is from the script, he was played by Vijay Amritraj.
