Template:Realworld Jeffrey Chernov is an executive producer and production manager on Star Trek, replacing Stratton Leopold.[1]

He began his career in Hollywood as a messenger on the 1976 production of King Kong, which starred Star Trek: Deep Space Nine actor Rene Auberjonois. He ultimately became a a producer, an assistant director, and a production manager and executive.

As a second assistant director, Chernov worked on such films as Body Heat and the John Carpenter's Escape from New York (starring Adrienne Barbeau) and The Thing (starring David Clennon). He was first assistant director on the 1984 film The Philadelphia Experiment.

Chernov's production management credits include two Halloween films (Halloween II and Halloween III: Season of the Witch) and the 1985 board game-based mystery/comedy Clue (starring Christopher Lloyd and Michael McKean). He was also an associate producer on Clue, a position he previously filled on Richard Pryor: Live in Concert and David Cronenberg's 1983 adaptation of Stephen King's The Dead Zone (featuring Anthony Zerbe). Chernov was a production executive on the first Children of the Corn film, as well, which was also based on a Stephen King novel.

Chernov became vice president of production for Buena Vista Pictures in the late 1980s. He has produced or executive produced such Buena Vista films as Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey (featuring Mark L. Taylor), Father Hood (starring Brian Bonsall), Bad Company (starring Frank Langella, Daniel Hugh Kelly and David Ogden Stiers), First Kid (featuring Bill Cobbs), Desperate Measures (featuring Richard Riehle and Tracey Walter), 10 Things I Hate About You (featuring Gabrielle Union), and The Replacements (featuring Brett Cullen).

In 2001, Chernov departed Buena Vista to as production executive for his former employer's partner company, Spyglass Entertainment. For Spyglass, Chernov has worked on such films as Reign of Fire (starring Alexander Siddig), The Recruit, Shanghai Knights, The Pacifier, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Underdog, and Balls of Fire.

More recently, Chernov produced the independent drama From a Place of Darkness, starring John Savage. He also made his directorial debut with A Line in the Sand, a drama which he also produced and which stars Bruce McGill.
