Jeffrey S. Chase (born 17 January 1968; age 56) is an actor and stuntman who portrayed an alien Starfleet cadet in J.J. Abrams' Star Trek. The same character also appeared in several other scenes which took place aboard Enterprise. [1] [2] The crew dubbed him "Dexter" during the production to distinguish him from the other alien characters. Credited as Jeffrey Chase, he appeared as a security officer guarding Khan in the 2013 sequel Star Trek Into Darkness. A behind the scenes photo of "Dexter" was later used as card #7 for the virtual collectible card battle game Star Trek: Rivals.

Chase was born as Jeffrey L. Sniffen in Paterson, New Jersey and had a career as a professional football player. He met his wife Kimberly in 1986 and they were married in 1991. They have one son, Cory. Because of his height of 6'7", Chase is not very hard to find in the productions he appeared in.
