(written from a Production point of view)
Jeff Khachadoorian is a carpenter, prop maker, and special effects artist and a co-owner of KOW FX, with Jeff Ogg and Andrew Weder. Khachadoorian was the foreman of KOW FX's prop shop while they were building props for 2009's Star Trek.
Khachadoorian has worked in the prop shop of such films as Armageddon (co-written by J.J. Abrams), Inspector Gadget (featuring Rene Auberjonois and Andy Dick), and Planet of the Apes (2001, featuring Erick Avari, Anne Elizabeth Ramsay, Freda Foh Shen, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, and David Warner). He also headed up KOW FX's prop shop for the 2005 film The Island, which, like Star Trek, was written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. Jeff Ogg also worked on all of these movies. In fact, the first time they worked together was their very first film project, the 1996 comedy Jingle All the Way.
Khachadoorian's other film work includes prop making Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, sculpting on The Lost World: Jurassic Park, and carpentry on such films as Air Force One, Starship Troopers (featuring Dina Meyer), Pleasantville, Cast Away, and The Core (starring Bruce Greenwood and Alfre Woodard). As part of KOW FX, he has done special effects work on such films as Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Constantine, and the two Pirates of the Caribbean sequels: Dead Man's Chest and At World's End.
