Javier Maribona-Picard was an ancestor of the Picard family, who lived during the 17th century. He was said to have been the ancestor of Jean-Luc Picard from 23 generations previous.

Ten years after the 1680 Pueblo Revolt, Maribona-Picard was involved in the brutal and "savage" reconquest of the area later known as New Mexico. Hundreds of Native Americans were killed and thousands more maimed by the returning Spanish forces. His 24th century descendant Captain Jean-Luc Picard had never heard of either Maribona-Picard or the incident in question until Anthwara informed him of it in 2370. (TNG: "Journey's End")

This character was only mentioned in dialogue. Although Maribona-Picard was said to be an ancestor of Jean-Luc Picard, according to Spanish naming customs Picard would be Javier's mother's maiden name. As a result, any children of Maribona-Picard would normally have borne the paternal last name Maribona, not Picard. Accordingly, Maribona-Picard would not have passed this name down to Jean-Luc Picard and would therefore not be a direct ancestor of his, but rather a 22-times-great-uncle.
