James Leland Adams (born 7 February 1963; age 61) (also known as Jason Leland Adams) is the actor who played Benyan in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Covenant".

Born in Los Angeles, California, Adams is perhaps best known for his role as John Reid 'Little John' Ryan in the long-running soap opera Ryan's Hope, on which he was a regular cast member between 1986 and 1989 along Star Trek: Voyager star Kate Mulgrew.

He also had two recurring roles as General George Custer and Preston A. Lodge III. in the drama series Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, where he played between 1994 and 1997 along regulars Chad Allen, Joe Lando, Frank Collison, Helene Udy, Erika Flores, Barbara Babcock, Gail Strickland, Nick Ramus, and Michelle Bonilla. In 1999 he played a bartender in the short film Weeping Shriner.
