Japan is a group of islands off the eastern coast of the Asian continent, and a former nation-state on Earth. The capital of Japan is Tokyo. It is also the home of the Japanese people.

A 20th century-era map of the northern Pacific Ocean region was stored in the USS Enterprise library computer in 2254.
