Jamie Arias is a dancer, choreographer, and instructor who worked with his wife Gail Arias as choreographer for the dance segement of Robert Picardo and Susan Diol in the Star Trek: Voyager second season episode "Lifesigns". He was on set Wednesday 3 January 1996 and Thursday 4 January 1996 at Paramount Stage 16.
Arias became Dance Fever champion, was among the Star Search finalists, and took part in the US Open Dance Championships Swing and Cabaret between 1986 and 1996. In 1994 and 1995 he received the Feather Award for the United States Top Showcase Dancers, in 1995 the first place in the Swing Dance Championship and the first place in the World Dance Championship, in 1999 he became Mr. US International, and in 1998 he was inducted into the Swing Dance Hall of Fame.
He was featured in print ads and articles for Digital Journal, L.A. Times, American Patriot, COSI Magazine, and Dance Action Magazine and choreographed dance segemnts for the production "Nights in Vienna" (2004), an episode of Walker, Texas Ranger (1999), the Soul Train Music Awards, Sears and Toyota commercials, for six years at the United States International Open Team and Duet Championship, and a music video for the Steve Miller Band.
Arias worked as assistant choreographer and principal dancer on the music drama Shout (1991, with Sam Hennings and choreographer Michelle Johnston) and on the drama The Mambo Kings (1992, with Jonathan del Arco and Susie Stillwell) and appeared as a dancer in a Mountain Dew commercial with Patrick Swayze, "E" Entertainment!, and episodes of Nip/Tuck and The Young and the Restless.
