James McIntire is the actor who played Hali in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Who Watches The Watchers".

McIntire has started his career in the early '80s, where he appeared in the television series Little House on the Prairie (1980, with Jonathan Banks and Wayne Grace) and The Dukes of Hazzard (1980, with Ray Young and Warren Munson). He continued and played roles in Hill Street Blues (1986, with James B. Sikking and Eric Pierpoint), Stingray (1986, with Steve Vinovich and Gregory J. Barnett), The A-Team (1986, starring Dwight Schultz and with Valerie Wildman and Robert Miano), Sledge Hammer (1987, with Diz White), and Murder She Wrote (1987, with Michael Horton and William Windom).

He also performed in several films, including the adventure film Death Hunt (1981, with Ed Lauter), the drama Walking the Edge (1983, with Terrence Beasor and Ivy Bethune), the television drama Acceptable Risks (1986, featuring Harvey Vernon), the Academy Award nominated war drama Good Morning, Vietnam (1987, with Noble Willingham), and the horror sequel Return of the Living Dead Part II (1988).

McIntire also made two appearances in the drama series Tour of Duty (1989, with Dan Gauthier and John DeMita), a guest stint in Life Goes On (1989, starring Bill Smitrovich and with Louis Giambalvo, Earl Boen, and Glenn Morshower). His last known performances are supporting roles in the science fiction film Class of 1999 (1990, starring Malcolm McDowell and Patrick Kilpatrick) and the comedy Ghost Dad (1990, with Eric Menyuk and Jeanne Mori).
