James Elliott Bama (28 April 192624 April 2022; age 95) was an American artist known for realistic depictions of Western subjects.

In 1966, he provided the art for the first print advertisements of Star Trek: The Original Series by NBC, based on imagery from the second pilot, "Where No Man Has Gone Before". In 1967, the same images were used as cover art for Star Trek 1, a collection of short story adaptations of seven episodes of The Original Series, written by James Blish.
