Template:Realworld Jack B. Sowards (born 18 March 1929 in Texarkana, Arkansas, United States; died 8 July 2007 in Valley Village, California, United States from complications of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) wrote the screenplay for Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. He later wrote the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Where Silence Has Lease".
Sowards received Saturn Award nomination from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films for The Wrath of Khan. He also received a Writers Guild of America (WGA) Award for his work on the series The Bold Ones: The Lawyers.
Sowards wrote 11 episodes of the classic western series Bonanza, and also wrote for the TV series Barnaby Jones.
