Izar was the third planet in the Epsilon Boötis system. This planet was classified as Class M. In 2183, the Federation starship S.S. Horizon landed on the planet. By the end of that year, the planet was settled by colonists and was admitted into the United Federation of Planets. The colony's capital was New Seattle, and the population was counted as 185 million in 2378. Major attractions included the Starfleet Tactical School and the Izar Institute of Meteorology.
