Ivan Dale Ditmars (12 April 1907 – 10 September 1997; age 90) was a composer and musical director who worked in radio and television from the early 1940s through the mid-1970s.
Ditmars worked on two episodes of Star Trek: The Original Series. For the first season episode "The Squire of Gothos", he performed Roses of the South by Johann Strauss II, and two Sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti on a harpsichord, which was dubbed in to William Campbell (Trelane) and Nichelle Nichols (Uhura) playing the instrument. Later, he composed the Brahms paraphrase heard in the third season episode "Requiem for Methuselah".
