The isomagnetic disintegrator was a shoulder-mounted weapon used by the Federation Starfleet, similar to an ancient Human bazooka.
In 2375, isomagnetic disintegrators were part of the armory of the Template:ShipClass USS Enterprise-E. Captain Jean-Luc Picard took ten isomagnetic disintegrators on his mission to help the Ba'ku resist forced resettlement. Lieutenant Commander Worf used one of the disintegrators to great effect against a pursuing landing team sent by the Son'a. (Star Trek: Insurrection)

According to the Decipher Starfleet Operations Manual, Isomagnetic disintegrators feature a portable magnetic charge inducer which fires the beam of isomagnetic energy to disrupt the targets electromagnetic field. The effect can be set anywhere from stun, to a temporary imparement of the central nervous system, and all the way up to the highest setting that turns the target to dust.
