Raised in New York, Iris moved from the Bronx to Israel at age 12, where she remained for several years and served in the Army. She had earned the rank of [[sergeant]] by the time she left and traveled the globe for about a year before returning to the U.S.
 
 
She attended Brown Unversity where she conducted cancer and brain research while majoring in Neuropsychology and Religious Studies. While there she also got involved in theatre, acting in and directing several plays.
 
 
After graduating magna cum laude, she decided to move back to New York to pursue acting full time. She has since guest starred in several television shows. She recently finished filming a starring role in the movie ''Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector'' which is scheduled for release in 2006.
