In 2024, Ireland was reunited as a result of violence used as a political instrument. This event became known as the Irish Unification of 2024. Kathryn Janeway's dog Mollie was an Irish Setter, a breed of dog native to Ireland. (VOY: "Caretaker", "Shattered")
In 2376, Kathryn Janeway and other members of the USS Voyager crew enjoyed visiting Fair Haven (Cuan Soineanta in Irish), a holodeck creation of a 19th century Irish village. Tom Paris created the simulation. Janeway stated that she had interest in Irish culture.
