Ireland was an island off the northwestern coast of the European continent on Earth. Its major city was called Dublin.
Ireland was also the name of a country on this island. The island was divided from 1921 to 2024, with the north-east being part of the nation-state known as "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland", with the remainder forming "The Republic of Ireland". In 2024, Ireland was reunited as a result of violence used as a political instrument. This event became known as the Irish Unification of 2024.
