Idrin was an Alpha-Hirogen hunter in the 24th century.

In 2374, Idrin contacted the USS Voyager and ordered to discontinue their use of the Hirogen communications network. Captain Kathryn Janeway tried to negotiate with Idrin but without any result. Seven of Nine decided to send a feedback surge and shocked the Hirogen so he got unconscious. (VOY: "Message in a Bottle")

Idrin later captured Tuvok and Seven of Nine as they were trying to download messages from Starfleet from a Hirogen relay station. He decided to gut the two and use their skeletons as trophies. The Voyager located the Hirogen ship and by boosting the effect of the quantum singularity that the Hirogen's used as a power source, they were able to beam Tuvok and Seven aboard the Voyager, as the Hirogen ship fell into a black hole. (VOY: "Hunters")

Idrin is the first Hirogen seen on Star Trek and was played by actor Tiny Ron.
Though the call sheets for "Message in a Bottle" are listing him as Idrin, the end credits of the episode are listing him simply as "Hirogen". Ron was not part of the primary filming of "Message in a Bottle" but filmed his scenes on 2nd unit on Friday 24 October 1997 on Paramount Stage 9. He previously had a "Show & Tell" meeting in full makeup and wardrobe on Wednesday 15 October 1997 during the production of the episode "Waking Moments".
