I Love Lucy was a television show which aired on Earth during the 1950s.

While stranded on Earth, the Vulcan Mestral watched the show. He even wanted to retrieve something from their ship which had crashed, that would boost the TV signal in order to watch this program. (ENT: "Carbon Creek")

In reality, Star Trek, in the 1960s, was originally a product of Desilu, which was owned by I Love Lucy stars Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. According to the memoir Inside Star Trek by Herbert Solow and Robert Justman, she was reportedly even on set for filming of some episodes, such as TOS: "Where No Man Has Gone Before" and was once even seen helping to clean up the set after filming. Solow and Justman also claim that Ball was responsible for NBC approving production of a second pilot.
