"I'll Be Seeing You" was a 20th century song from Earth.

Vic Fontaine recorded it for Doctor Bashir in 2375, who played it on the loudspeakers while a Starfleet team awaited an attack by the Jem'Hadar at AR-558. (DS9: "The Siege of AR-558")

Nog became fixated on the song after he lost his leg on this planet and continually requested it at Vic's Las Vegas Lounge during his recovery. After singing all fifteen arrangements they knew, Vic told Nog that the guys in the band were getting bored with it. (DS9: "It's Only a Paper Moon")

Lyrics Edit

I'll be seeing you
In all the old familiar places
That this heart of mine embraces
All day through.

In that small cafe;
The park across the way;
The children's carousel;
The chestnut trees;
The wishin' well.

I'll be seeing you
In every lovely summer's day;
In every thing that's bright and gay.
I'll always think of you that way.

I'll find you
In the morning sun
And when the night is new.
I'll be looking at the moon,
But I'll be seeing you.

I'll be seeing you
In every lovely summer's day;
In every thing that's light and gay.
I'll always think of you that way.

I'll find you
In the morning sun
And when the night is new.
I'll be looking at the moon,
But I'll be seeing you.

This song was, according to the Star Trek Encyclopedia (4th ed., vol. 1, p. 355), about a humanoid lover's longing for an absent mate. It was first recorded in 1938 and became especially popular during World War II. Among the artists covering this song were Billie Holiday, Bing Crosby, Dean Martin, Jimmy Durante and Frank Sinatra.
At the 81st Annual Academy Awards, held at the 22 February 2009 in Los Angeles, Queen Latifah performed this song and accompanied the "In Memoriam" special. Star Trek actors Ricardo Montalban and Robert DoQui were among the remembered talents who passed away in the last year. [1]
