Maihar'du, a Hupyrian

The Hupyrians were a humanoid species native to either the Alpha or Beta Quadrant. They had tight skin with a continuously frowning expression. The males were quite tall. They were popular with the Ferengi Grand Nagi, who used them as servants, food tasters, and bodyguards due to their devotion of service. Hupyrian servants took vows of silence and spoke only to their masters. (DS9: "The Nagus", "Prophet Motive", "Profit and Lace")

Hupyrians were famous for their beetle snuff, the favored drug of Grand Nagus Zek and many other Ferengi. (DS9: "Rules of Acquisition")

It seems likely that Hupyrian/Ferengi First Contact took place prior to 2151, as Ulis offered beetle snuff to Krem in this year, suggesting trade had taken place. Since all Hupyrians seen were in service of a Ferengi, it is possible that their species were part of the Ferengi Alliance.
According to the Star Trek: Star Charts, on the star chart United Federation of Planets I, the Hupyrians were from the Hupyria (Tau Coronae Borealis) system. Both the primary and the secondary were K-type stars. This system was located in the Alpha Quadrant.
