Honky-tonk was an American musical genre; the term was also used to refer to the type of bar where such music was often played.

The song "It's Only a Paper Moon", which was a frequently performed by Vic Fontaine at his lounge, had the lyric "Without your love, it's a honky-tonk parade." (DS9: "It's Only a Paper Moon")
