Hercules was a heroic figure in Greek mythology.

The constellation Hercules was named for him. (VOY: "Lifesigns")

Henry Janeway remarked in late 2000 that the great Greek heroes like Hercules, Agamemnon or Odysseus had all been raised by single parents. (VOY: "11:59")

In 2267, Apollo compared the "prideful and arrogant" behavior of James T. Kirk to that of Hercules and Agamemnon until they had felt Apollo's wrath. (TOS: "Who Mourns for Adonais?")

In 2372, The Doctor told Danara Pel that the mythological Hercules had provided the origin for the name of the constellation Hercules. (VOY: "Lifesigns")

When a hologram of Leonardo da Vinci interacted with Kathryn Janeway in late 2373, he spoke about having produced two portraits of a cardinal's nephew in which he had, in compliance with his contract for the artwork, depicted the illustration's subject like a heroic Hercules or Achilles. Unhappy with the fact he had thereafter received no payment for the job, Leonardo commented to Janeway that making the nephew seem like Hercules or Achilles was "an act on my part far greater than anything accomplished by Hercules or Achilles!" (VOY: "Scorpion")
