A Hekaran starship was a type of starship employed by the Hekarans during the late 24th century. These are small vessels are equipped with transporter systems, and can operate with a single crewmember.
In 2370, one of these vessels, flown by Rabal and Serova, mined the Hekaras Corridor with verteron probes. After disabling the USS Enterprise-D, they boarded the ship and presented their case to Captain Jean-Luc Picard.
Serova, who was not convinced that her efforts were as effective as she had hoped, returned to her ship and withdrew from the Enterprise. Once at a distance, she began to overload the engines in an attempt to create a warp core breach. Ultimately she was successful making her point by creating a subspace rift. (TNG: "Force of Nature")
