A headband was a strip of fabric worn around one's head to keep hair tidy and out of one's eyes.

In 2263, Hikaru Sulu and Ben's daughter wore a blue headband when she was reunited with Sulu on Yorktown starbase, and a pink hairband during the Krall's attack. (Star Trek Beyond)

The women of Planet Two in the Taurean system issued headbands to its male victims, which were in reality polarized conductors, that extracted the vital energy. (TAS: "The Lorelei Signal")

Lieutenant Valeris wore what looked like a metal headband in 2293. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country)

Counselor Deanna Troi usually wore different styles of headbands made of plastic, metal or fabric. (TNG: "Encounter at Farpoint" et al.)

Starfleet headbands were usually in colors corresponding to the wearer's division. Crewmembers who wore headbands include Ro Laren (TNG: "Ensign Ro", "The Next Phase") and Henley. The latter was reprimanded by Tuvok in 2371 for wearing one, as it violated Starfleet regulations, though he did remark that it was "festive". (VOY: "Learning Curve")

While the Ligonian First One Yareena wore a headband during the contact with the crew from the Enterprise-D in 2364, security chief Natasha Yar also wore a black headband during her hand-to-hand combat with Yareena at the Ligonian Centerplace. (TNG: "Code of Honor")

An Arkenite at Starfleet Command wore a black band on his head during the Whale Probe crisis. (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home)

T'Lyn wore a blue hair band matching her sciences division uniform. (Star Trek: Lower Decks)
