Admiral Hastur was a 24th century Starfleet flag officer. In 2372, Hastur commanded a task force of six starships, led by the USS Venture, which was dispatched to help defend Deep Space Nine from Klingons during the First Battle of Deep Space Nine. The task force also included two Excelsior class ships and a Miranda class ship. (DS9: "The Way of the Warrior")
