Lieutenant Commander Greta Vanderweg was a Starfleet science officer born in 2338 on Alpha Centauri. She began her Starfleet service in 2363, having transferred to Deep Space 9 in 2372. She had a husband, who worked as a micropaleontologist on Mora V. Her quarters on DS9 were located in section J17.

She was murdered in 2375 by fellow Starfleet officer Chu'lak using a TR-116 rifle. (DS9: "Field of Fire")

Vanderweg was portrayed by background actress Valerie Ann Miller who received no credit for this appearance.
