Flood and Waters Subsiding, Noah's Sacrifice and His Drunkenness

A depiction of the great flood in the fresco Flood and Waters Subsiding

The great flood was a flood mentioned in the Bible book of Genesis, in which Noah's Ark preserved the lives of Noah, his family, and several kinds of animals.

After being ordered by James T. Kirk to build a salt water tank for two humpback whales in the cargo bay of the HMS Bounty, Montgomery Scott said, "The great flood and Noah's Ark, what a way to finally go." This line came from the script for Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home; however, the line wasn't mentioned in the movie.
