Gorlan prayer stick

A Gorlan prayer stick

A Gorlan prayer stick was an extremely rare artifact. It had no real value as an antique except to students of archaeology.

Captain Jean-Luc Picard was in the possession of a Gorlan prayer stick and kept it in his quarters aboard the USS Enterprise-D. He traded a bottle of very old Saurian brandy for the artifact. He later gave the prayer stick to Jason Vigo as a parting gift. (TNG: "Bloodlines")

According to the script, his name was pronounced as "GORE-lun". [1]
According to the Star Trek: The Next Generation Companion (2nd ed., p. 295), René Echevarria claimed that there was no intentional connection to the mirror universe Gorlan.
