AT: "nt" The Gilliam (NCC-1701/02) was a shuttlecraft assigned to the USS Enterprise in 2258. The Gilliam was used to transport cadets from the Academy to the Enterprise following the receipt of a distress call from Vulcan. Counted among the shuttle's passengers, were James T. Kirk and his friend, Leonard McCoy. (Star Trek)

The Gilliam originally appeared to be a classic shuttle with its nacelles attached to pylons on the ventral side. However, in the revealing shot of the Enterprise, it appeared to have its nacelles attached to the dorsal hull.
The shuttle was named after the 20th century TV & film director Terry Gilliam[[1]] (citation needededit).
