(split 2233)
The Gilliam was a Federation shuttlecraft that was in service to Starfleet in the mid-23rd century, attached to the USS Enterprise.
In 2258, upon the mobilization of all Starfleet cadets to respond to a distress call from Vulcan, the Gilliam was used to ferry cadets from Hangar 1 in San Francisco to the Enterprise, which was docked at Starbase 1. (Star Trek)

Background information[]
The Gilliam originally appeared to be a Moore-type shuttlecraft with its nacelles attached to pylons on the ventral sides of the craft. However, in the reveal shot of the Enterprise it was a military shuttle with its nacelles attached to the dorsal sides of the hull.
As a Moore-type shuttlecraft, this shuttle's registry was 2. As a military transport, this shuttle's registry was 9.
The 2013 virtual collectible card battle game Star Trek: Rivals used an image of a military type shuttlecraft for card #39, Shuttlecraft Gilliam.
This shuttle was named after Dawn Gilliam, a script supervisor on the film. Next to the entry on this shuttle, there was a port profile of the Gilliam in its Moore-type shuttle configuration. (Star Trek Encyclopedia (4th ed., vol. 1, p. 305))
